What changed in the games, newest first.
🎹 Rhythm on a MIDI keyboard
On a computer, turn on the MIDI keyboard in Rhythm's ⚙️ and play the rhythm on the keys, like on a piano: a chord or an octave counts as one tap. The sound is the note you played.
🎼 Rhythm: the melody written at its pitch
In Rhythm, with the sound set to "Melody", turn on "Notes at their pitch" in ⚙️ and each note appears on the staff line where it sounds, like in sheet music. Your score doesn't change.
⚙️ ⚙️ Settings in Rhythm
Ranked Rhythm now has a ⚙️: choose the note the game plays (or "Melody", which changes with every note) and whether to show the beat ruler. None of this changes the difficulty.
🏆 Find your place in the ranking
The ranking used to stop at the top 50. Now you see your position even further down, and "Go to my page" takes you straight to it.
👂 Fixed: "Listen" in Rhythm
The game used to switch the rhythm after the example, so you were scored on a rhythm you hadn't heard. Now it's always the same one.
📊 Class dashboard for teachers
Teachers can now follow each student's progress in detail: how far each one has come and where each one needs help. The group ranking now lives on the group page, and the overall ranking shows which school each person is from.
🥁 Free rhythm: 2/4, 3/4 and metronome
In Rhythm's free mode you can now choose the time signature (2/4, 3/4 or 4/4), how many bars, the kind of tie and how many rests in a row. The metronome can click only on beat 1, on beats 2 and 4 (in 4/4), or stay silent after the count-in.
🏫 Groups for schools and classes
Anyone with an account can now request a group for their school or class, with a name, description and logo. Once approved it gets its own page and an invitation link — whoever joins appears on the group ranking.
🔑 Google sign-in: fix
An error prevented account creation through Google in some cases. Fixed — if it failed for you, try again.
🎹 Intervals and Chords: the piano on the start screen
The piano is there before you start — play it and use 🔊 Hear an example to hear each interval or chord of the level with the keys lit. The track shows every level's number and your best score.
🎼 Free reading practice: bass clef
In ⚙️ Options of the free practice, choose treble clef, bass clef, or both switching with every note. In bass clef the piano moves down to the left-hand octave.
🏫 Groups: your school or class ranking
Part of a school or class that uses the app? Type the group code in “My account” and the Ranking gets an “Everyone × your group” switch. Leaving the group deletes nothing.
🏆 You choose whether you appear on the Ranking
The Ranking is a public page, and now there is a switch under “My account”: with it off, your name and photo leave the list. Nothing is deleted — your progress and results stay yours.
👤 My account: your details in one place
You can now see and change your name, know how you sign in, and adjust everything in one place — including deleting your account or resetting your progress.
📈 My progress: see how you're improving
A new screen in the menu shows your practice days, streak, total time and a chart of your accuracy over the days, game by game. You need to be signed in.
🏆 Intervals and Chords in the ranking
Your Intervals and Chords rounds now count towards the ranking and come back when you sign in on another device.
🧭 Two interactive guides: rhythm and reading
Two new pages explain the concepts with sound and movement instead of text: pulse, bar, note values and syncopation on one side; staff, clefs and accidentals on the other. They are listed at the end of the Help screen.
❓ Help on every screen, and a place to search it
A “?” beside the controls explains, in plain words, what each one does — and the new Help screen gathers all 29 subjects in one place, with search and with the ones from the screen you came from at the top.
🎵 Three more songs to read
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Ode to Joy and Jingle Bells join the catalogue, all in the public domain. All three arrive with chords written above the melody — and you can change or erase them.
📚 One list to choose a song
Your songs and the app's now share one list, which marks the one that is open. Your phone's back button now closes the screen you are on instead of leaving the game.
📚 Your songs stay saved on your device
Every .mid you import stays on your shelf: one tap opens the piece with its chords, on the track you left it on. You can export the whole repertoire to a file and carry it to another device.
🎸 From MIDI file to chord chart: the song becomes yours
Load a .mid, choose which bars each chord lands on, and play reading melody and chords at once. A new Play-along mode scrolls in time without measuring anything.
🎼 Load your own MIDI file and read its score
Pick a .mid from your computer and it becomes a reading lesson on the staff, with tempo and spacing under your control. The file never leaves your device.
🥁 Fifteen new Rhythm levels: silence, syncopation and the fine grid
The track went from 15 to 30 levels, with phrases growing up to four bars. World 4: rests and ties · World 5: the accent between the beats · World 6: sixteenth and thirty-second notes.
🎵 Real music: play Happy Birthday by reading the score
The score scrolls by and you play the melody on the piano, your computer keyboard or a MIDI keyboard. There is a practice mode, where the score waits while you find each note, and a timed mode that measures the right notes and how accurate your timing is.
🎼 Five more levels in Staff Reading
World 2 takes the note outside the staff and introduces ledger lines — from middle C up to the high A.
☁️ Your progress follows you to any device
Sign in on another computer or phone and the levels you already cleared will be there. Progress now follows your account, not the browser.
🎼 The octave now counts in Staff Reading
In levels where the same letter appears at two pitches (E4 and E5), the key in the right octave is now what counts. The game teaches the difference before asking for it.
🏆 Staff Reading joined the ranking
The ranking now has a game selector and opens on the one you played last. Levels you already cleared as a guest are uploaded automatically when you sign in.

Connect your MIDI keyboard to your computer and pick 🎹 MIDI mode in the reading games. The note you play becomes your answer, instantly.
🏆 Rhythm Ranking
See who has gone furthest along the Rhythm path, with your own position highlighted. You can view the overall ranking or a specific level.
👤 Create your account and sign in
You can now create an account with email and password and sign in from the avatar at the top. Your progress is now kept in your account.
🎙️ Play your answer on a real piano
Pick 🎙️ Microphone mode in the reading games and answer by playing the note on your real piano — or singing it. The app recognizes the pitch instantly.
🎸 New game: Chords
The Chords game is here: listen and identify triads, suspended chords, sevenths and extensions. It has a level track (from major/minor up to 9ths) and a free mode to pick which chords to drill, blocked or arpeggiated. It's all by ear — the keys only show if you turn the hint on.
🎹 Intervals: levels, more intervals and real ear training
The Intervals game grew up: it now has a level track (from the third up to the octave, including harmonic) and the question plays sound only, with no key hints, to train your ear for real (you can turn the visual hint on in beginner mode). It also gained a free mode: pick the intervals, melodic or harmonic, the direction and the round length (10, 20 or endless).
⏱️ The Rhythm count-in now happens inside the tap circle
Before recording, the 1·2·3·4 count-in now appears inside the tap button, pulsing on each beat, instead of the number that used to sit loose above the circle. It frees up screen space (especially on phones) and keeps your eyes where you will tap.
🏁 A clearer end-of-round screen in Staff Reading flow
When you finish a round of Staff Reading flow, the result now shows in a centered card — score, accuracy and your best — with next level, play again and free practice right there. Much easier to read on a phone.
🏃 Staff Reading is now a fluency game
The Staff Reading game is now a flow: notes come in and you name each one before it leaves the screen — reading-fluency practice, with levels that widen the range bit by bit and a colorful Kids mode. The old one-note-at-a-time, no-pressure mode is still there under "✏️ Free practice".
⌨️ Answer Staff Reading with your keyboard
In the Staff Reading game, in Piano mode, you can now answer using your computer keyboard: the keys A S D F G H J become the notes C D E F G A B (and the row above — W E T Y U — gives the sharps). Handy for practicing on a computer without reaching for the mouse.
🧭 A fresh, easier navigation
The top of the app was rethought: you can now switch games at any time from the Games button, there is a menu (☰) with What’s New and language, and every game got a clear "← back" (in Free Rhythm it takes you straight to the Levels). The look is cleaner and lighter too, on phone and desktop.
🔗 Ties and syncopation in the Rhythm game
Ties have arrived — that little arc that joins two notes and adds their beats together. A tie is drawn with two noteheads but played only once (the second carries the first over). It sustains a note across the barline and creates syncopation (notes that land off the strong beat). Turn it on in ⚙️ Settings → Ties. (The old Figures panel is now called Settings, since it holds more.)
🎵 Dotted eighth note in the Rhythm game
The figures panel now has the dotted eighth note (and its rest) — the figure behind the classic dotted rhythm (dotted eighth + sixteenth). Enable it in ⚙️ Settings to practice it.
📰 A What's New section
The app now has this What's New screen: whenever something new lands, it shows up here. Check back now and then to see what changed.
🎯 Guide line for beginners
In the Staff Reading game, a dotted line connects the note on the staff to the matching key (or button) — a hand for anyone learning to read sheet music. A new options panel (⚙️) lets you keep it always on, show it only when you miss, or turn it off.
🎵 New note values in the Rhythm game
The Rhythm game's figures panel now includes sixteenth and thirty-second notes (and their rests), with proper flags and beams. Enable them in the control panel to practice faster rhythms.
